A silent origin
The name comes from Swahili and means life. It connects founder Maike with the island of Zanzibar – a place that showed her how simple and clear life can be when you surrender to it. To this day, Zanzibar remains a retreat and a second home for her – characterized by warmth, nature, and serenity.
The name also echoes the first letters of her own name and that of her firstborn son Shaku – a silent sign of how deeply family, care and health are rooted in the heart of MAI SHA.
